Pistache Clothing History / Press Release 2010

Hip Hop Clothing, Urban Clothing, Streetwear, whatever you want to call it, we call it Pistache !!! Pistache Clothing stands for Artist Quality Screen Printed Clothing, Limited Editions, Innovative & Artistic Designs & Durable Garment Construction.

In 2003, after working for clothing brands like American Apparel, Quiksilver, Moist & Legends (now Extreme), brothers Nick Bennett (screen printing graduate) & Jamie Bennett (marketing graduate) established their own brand in London, Pistache Clothing Ltd. Since the beginning, Pistache Clothing has been dedicated to it's mission - providing it's loyal customers with the best quality Hip Hop Clothing, Urban Clothing, Streetwear or whatever you want to call it, available today.

Nick started out as a Hip Hop MC with the renowned UK Hip Hop group Dupa Styles (Yungun aka Essa, Devise & Harry Love). So, naturally the brand started by clothing personal friends from the UK Hip Hop scene. Then, over time, all sorts of musicians following different beats connected with Pistache - Yungun, Mr Thing, Yarah Bravo, Asaviour, DJ Excalibah, Mark De Clive Lowe, Nigel NK, Harry Love, MC Wrec, The Infadels, Soweto Kinch, Tommy Evans, Verb T, DJ IQ & GTA to name a few.

Pistache also released a classic UK Hip Hop Mixtape 'Pistache Presents Beats'n'Rhymes Vol.1 mixed by DJ IQ'. The Mixtape features the talents of US Hip Hop legends KRS1, Chuck D & Immortal Technique. As well as Pistache's favourite UK Hip Hop artists Yungun, Klashnekoff, Harry Love, Mr Thing, Kyza, Asaviour, Braintax, Lowkey, Blade, Doc Brown, Tommy Evans, Reveal, Stylah, Yogi, Rukus, Ty, Verb T, Confuscius, Eric Lau, Genesis Elijah, L Roneous, DJ IQ, Kashmere, Mr Tibbs, Devise, Infinite Potential, Amber MC, Twisted Link, Wordsmith, GTA, Brotherman & Solisai. Exclusive new releases in the 'Pistache Presents....' series are coming soon.

Pistache Clothing has branched out from just being a UK hip hop clothing brand. Pistache now has it's own X-Riders Team featuring talented individuals like Karl Frampton, Marco Vicari, Eugene Tollemache & Louis Selby. Pistache also collaborated with underground hip hop artists, graffiti writers & graphic designers like Nature323, Board-Chicks, Lady Luck & Daz to help keep the designs fresh.

On the business side of things, Pistache quickly adapted to the global market and established relationships with independent urban & hip hop retailers in the USA, Japan, France, Spain & Belgium. However, Pistache's main focus has always been online, forming direct relationships with their customers & providing them with the ability to get involved & fully customize all aspects of their clothing.

The boys at Pistache are making the brand (and their lives) even more eco-friendly by growing a sustainable Paulownia Plantation on 4.5 acres of disused agricultural land. The O2 produced by the Paulownia trees should more than offset the CO2 produced from manufacturing and shipping their clothing worldwide. Pistache already used water based inks and as many recycled products as possible.

Following in the footsteps of the original streetwear / hip hop clothing brands like Stussy & Fresh Jive, Pistache is becoming one of the hottest brands in the urban hip hop clothing scene & is present in many different subcultures from UK Hip Hop to Graffiti to Skateboarding. Believe that Pistache is sticking to the core ideals of it's original mission.
